BEIJING — China launched a brand new three-person crew for its orbiting house station on Tuesday, with an eye fixed to placing astronauts on the moon earlier than the tip of the last decade.

The Shenzhou 16 spacecraft lifted off from the Jiuquan launch heart on the sting of the Gobi Desert in northwestern China atop a Lengthy March 2-F rocket simply after 9:30 a.m. (0130 GMT) Tuesday.
