SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — A lawmaker within the Bahamas was charged Wednesday with sexual assault and issuing demise threats in a case involving a 35-year-old lady.
Kirk Cornish, who represents North Abaco, mentioned in a press release that the allegations had been “completely false” and that he would show his innocence.
“The info will present that this was a breakup that was manipulated and exploited for political causes,” he mentioned.
Cornish resigned Tuesday as secretary of Parliament on the request of Prime Minister Philip Courageous Davis, who mentioned that the director of public prosecutions discovered adequate proof to file prices towards the 48-year-old politician.
The alleged incident occurred in April, in response to a police assertion.
