CAIRO (Reuters) – Any hostile transfer in opposition to Yemen could have dire penalties and nice prices, Ali al-Qahoum, a member of the Houthi group’s Ansarullah politburo, advised Al Mayadeen TV late on Friday.

“The Houthis won’t abandon the Palestinian trigger, no matter any U.S., Israeli, or Western threats,” he mentioned, including that operations in opposition to Israel will proceed.

Yemen is prepared with all defensive choices to answer any American, Israeli or Western hostile strikes, he mentioned.

“Yemen is worried in defending worldwide maritime navigation in accordance with worldwide legal guidelines and norms,” al-Qahoum mentioned.

Earlier within the day, the U.S. navy mentioned assaults from Houthi-controlled Yemen struck two Liberian-flagged ships within the Bab al-Mandab Strait, underlining the risk to vessels in delivery lanes being focused by the Iran-aligned group.

A part of the Iran-aligned “Axis of Resistance”, the Houthis have been attacking vessels in Purple Sea delivery lanes and firing drones and missiles at Israel.

The Houthis, who rule a lot of Yemen, have mentioned they’ll proceed their assaults till Israel stops its offensive within the Gaza Strip.
