ANKARA, Turkey — A series-reaction crash Thursday involving seven autos on a motorway in northwest Turkey killed a minimum of 10 individuals and injured 57 others, officers stated.

The pileup occurred in dense fog and low visibility on the Northern Marmara Freeway in Sakarya province, some 150 kilometers (93 miles) from Istanbul.

An investigation has been launched into the accident however Gov. Yasar Karadeniz of Sakarya stated it seemingly occurred when a car hit a truck in poor visibility, triggering different crashes on the rear.

Not less than three intercity buses have been concerned within the crash.

Authorities imagine some passengers died after they left their autos and have been struck by one other car, Karadeniz informed reporters on the scene.

Seven of the injured have been in critical situation, the governor stated.

Police and emergency personnel have been seen clearing the wreckage on the scene.
