Parisian rapper MHD has been sentenced to 12 years in jail over the 2018 homicide of a 23-year-old man, French information service Agence France-Press experiences. MHD had pled not responsible to the fees.
Per the AFP, MHD reiterated his not-guilty plea throughout a ultimate assertion to the jury, remarking: “From the start, I’ve maintained my innocence on this case and I’ll proceed to keep up my innocence.” MHD was tried alongside eight co-defendants: three have been acquitted, whereas 5 others acquired sentences starting from 10 to 18 years, per The Guardian. The entire convicted events pled not responsible.
MHD was initially charged with voluntary manslaughter in 2019, after he was arrested in relation to the July 2018 killing of the person, recognized as Loïc Okay, in Paris’ tenth arrondissement. MHD’s automotive was reportedly noticed on the scene of the crime. On the time, MHD’s lawyer denied that the artist had “any involvement within the brawl” throughout which Loïc Okay died in a press release to the AFP.
