Together with his upcoming movie IF, writer-director John Krasinski swaps the aliens and horror of A Quiet Place for cuddly imaginary creatures and kooky childhood fantasy.

The film introduces us to a younger woman (Cailey Fleming) who begins to see IFs (or “Imaginary Buddies”) who’ve been left behind by the youngsters who dreamt them up within the first place. One such IF is a large fuzzy purple blob voiced by Steve Carell, marking an Workplace reunion for him and Krasinski.

Becoming a member of Carell and Fleming is a complete host of stars, together with Ryan Reynolds, Krasinski, Fiona Shaw, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Louis Gossett Jr., Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Maya Rudolph, Jon Stewart, Bobby Moynihan, Sam Rockwell, Sebastian Maniscalco, Christopher Meloni, Richard Jenkins, and Awkwafina. Oh, and there is an IF who seems to be like a really unhappy, melting marshmallow.

IF hits theaters Could 17.
