Elon Musk’s newest authorized adversary: a nonprofit that research hate speech and misinformation on social media.
On July 20, X Corp., previously generally known as Twitter, despatched a letter to the Middle for Countering Digital Hate, or CCDH, threatening to sue the British analysis nonprofit. It alleged that the CCDH made “inflammatory, outrageous, and false or deceptive assertions about Twitter” and steered it conspired “to drive advertisers off Twitter by smearing the corporate and its proprietor.”
The letter follows CCDH analysis revealed in June, which studied the propagation of hate speech on the social media platform since Musk’s buyout. In a single report 100 totally different accounts subscribed to Twitter Blue, CCDH discovered that X Corp. didn’t act on 99% of hate posted by the subscribers and questioned whether or not the social media platform’s algorithm boosts “poisonous tweets.”

The letter from X Corp. to CCDH is certainly one of a handful of authorized threats or actions by the corporate in current months.
