ABUJA (Reuters) – President Bola Tinubu has ordered a recall of Nigeria’s ambassadors the world over with fast impact, his spokesman stated on Saturday.

“The president is decided to make sure that world-class effectivity and high quality, will henceforth, characterize overseas and home service supply to residents, residents and potential guests alike,” presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale stated.

Nigeria’s United Nations everlasting representatives in New York and Geneva are exempted from the “complete recall” as a result of upcoming United Nations Basic Meeting (UNGA) later within the month, Tinubu’s workplace stated in a press release.

Nigeria has 109 diplomatic missions worldwide, comprising 76 embassies, 22 excessive commissions and 11 consulates.

Tinubu, who has launched into the nation’s boldest reforms in many years, is scheduled to carry talks with U.S. President Joe Biden on the sidelines of the final meeting and likewise meet leaders from Brazil, India, South Korea and Germany through the G20 assembly later within the month.
