Protesters quickly disrupted the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York Metropolis in what was the most recent demonstration in opposition to the Israel-Hamas battle. 

Teams of protesters gathered each on the parade route and sidelines, holding banners and chanting. Floats and marching bands continued to maneuver down sixth Avenue, veering across the protesters.

Video footage reveals one group of protesters in white jumpsuits with phrases like “imperialism” and “genocide” written on them, blocking a dinosaur balloon by Sinclair Oil Company. The group, reportedly generally known as the Seven Circles Alliance, lay on the bottom as pretend blood was poured on them, chanting “liberation for Palestine and planet.”

One other group reportedly jumped over the barricades separating the parade route, ABC Information stories, and displayed a banner that stated “Genocide then, genocide now,” as people behind the barricades lined the route with Palestinian flags.

In the course of the parade, because the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe’s float moved alongside the route, one member unfurled and displayed the Palestinian flag.

Video footage reveals a number of protesters being led away in handcuffs by law enforcement officials, although the precise variety of protesters or arrests have but to be confirmed. The NYPD didn’t return TIME’s request for remark forward of publication. 

The Impartial stories that one of many protesters stated, “I cannot rejoice the genocide of 1000’s of youngsters who’re being bombed and buried below rubble. Now we have nothing to rejoice.”
