Tropical Storm Eugene is transferring away from Mexico’s Pacific coast and is predicted to steadily weaken

MEXICO CITY — Tropical Storm Eugene headed away from Mexico’s Pacific coast Sunday and was anticipated to weaken.

Eugene introduced some rain to Baja California.

The U.S. Nationwide Hurricane Heart stated Eugene was centered about 210 miles (340 kilometers) west of the Baja resort of Los Cabos on Sunday afternoon. Its most sustained winds remained at about 70 mph (110 kph) and it was transferring west-northwest at 20 mph (31 kph).

The Mexican authorities warned the system might trigger “heavy rains” alongside the coast, however Eugene was anticipated to move out to sea.

It was the fifth named storm of the jap Pacific hurricane season.
